Knowledgehook is on a mission to empower the problem solvers of tomorrow. To make our education platform even more compelling and engaging, we are continuing to enhance the gamification aspects of our learning experience, and are expanding the team to meet that need.

Knowledgehook is looking for a talented and passionate 2D Game Artist who excels in producing thought-provoking, compelling, and inspirational concept art that wants to be a key contributor to the vision of an innovative new game initiative we’re building from the ground-up.

Knowledgehook’s purpose is to inspire and develop the problem solvers of tomorrow. We have a math education brand with a passionate fan-base and are assembling a purpose-driven team who loves to collaborate and solve problems with innovative solutions.

You will

  • Create character, item, and world concept illustrations based on direction from the team lead to help drive the design, visual language, and vision of a new game project
  • Conduct relevant research to inform your concept art decisions
  • Collaborate with programmers to create game assets that are optimized for various devices
  • Animate 2D game assets, as needed
  • Contribute to 2D user interface graphics asset creation, as well as 2D game assets using the concept art you create as a starting point

You have

  • 1-5 years of experience as a 2D Game Artist, with a focus on concept art
  • Able to produce concept art and 2D game assets that cover a wide spectrum of subject matter: organic and inorganic characters and creatures, as well as items and environments
  • Proficient in industry standard tools, such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience working on mobile games is an asset
  • Experience working on game user interfaces is an asset
  • Experience with 2D game animation is a key asset
  • Experience working in an Agile start-up environment is a plus
